    Kettle's Yard

    ABOUT KETTLE'S YARD:
Kettle’s Yard is the University of Cambridge’s modern and contemporary art gallery. Kettle’s Yard is a beautiful house with a remarkable collection of modern art and a gallery that hosts modern and contemporary art exhibitions.

    DESIGN CHALLENGE:
Kettle’s Yard underwent a major redevelopment project which included: A four-floor Education Wing; new & improved Exhibition Galleries; a new Foyer & Café

    THE SOLUTION:
Kettle's Yard wanted to create a state-of-the-art open concept space to promote collaboration and innovation while enabling their employees to enjoy creative down-time energy booster elements. Our approach was to select furniture with inherent design pedigree; the 120 40/4 leather stacking chairs used were designed by David Rowland in 1964 and are part of the permanent furniture collection in the Museum of Modern Art, NY. Desks, tables and chairs for both internal and public spaces were flexible, modular pieces that facilitated connection with co-workers.
